MySQL:
If you wish to have any newsgroups, message boards, forums etc.
on your website you will need a database.
A
database is a structured collection of data. It may be anything
from a simple shopping list to a picture gallery or vast amounts
of information in a corporate network. To add, access and process
data stored in a computer database, you need a database management

Basic Plan includes up to 10 MySQL databases – with our
Deluxe plan, you may have up to 20 MySQL databases.

Perl, PHP4, Python, Ruby and TCL:
We always do our best to provide our customers with the latest
and most stable versions of available programming languages. We
offer support for Perl, PHP4, Python, Ruby and TCL.
Perl
stands for Practical Extraction and Report Language. It is the
most widely used language for CGI. The path to Perl is /usr/bin/perl
PHP
is a server-side HTML embedded scripting language that was developed
in C and is designed especially for working with relational database
systems. Self-referentially short for PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor,
an open source, server-side, HTML embedded scripting language
used to create dynamic Web pages. In an HTML document, PHP script
(similar syntax to that of Perl or C ) is enclosed within special
PHP tags. Because PHP is embedded within tags, the author can
jump between HTML and PHP (similar to ASP and Cold Fusion) instead
of having to rely on heavy amounts of code to output HTML. And,
because PHP is executed on the server, the client cannot view
the PHP code. PHP can perform any task that any CGI program can
do, but its strength lies in its compatibility with many types
of databases. Also, PHP can talk across networks using IMAP,
SNMP, NNTP, POP3, or HTTP. PHP was created sometime in 1994 by
Rasmus Lerdorf. Our servers can run php-nuke. For detailed information

CGI scripts:
CGI (which is a protocol that stands for Common Gateway Interface)
is used to accomplish tasks, such as the operation of a hit counter
or guestbook, that are not supported by basic HTML.
Essentially it is a place where the Web server knows executable
content lives.
Your cgi-bin scripts are put in the subdirectory named "cgi-bin".
This directory is set up with special permissions to execute CGI
scripts.
IMPORTANT: CGI programming is available but is NOT included in
our standard website design/redesign agreement.
SSL:
SSL is a protocol that uses encryption to safeguard the transmission
of sensitive data. Compatible with all modern browsers, it is wise
to use SSL when you process credit card transactions on your website,
or when you have password-protected areas of your site.
Your
site visitors will be able to connect through SSL using a shared
security certificate. If you wish to install a personal security
certificate (dedicated to your domain only), you need to purchase
one from a certificate authority.
NOTE: Our fee to install a personal security certificate is $60
per year.
SSI:
Servers support Server Side Includes (SSI), a method of calling
code from within a page. SSI makes it possible for you to include
a snippet of HTML code into a page or a group of pages.

Pre-Installed Scripts:
Site
Search Engine: Take advantage of our search engine
feature that will help your Web site visitors search throughout
your site. Note: this is a very basic engine, don’t expect
Google level technology with your intra-site searches.
Formmail: If
you host your site with us, Cole WebMarketing can create an interactive
form on your Web page that will collect information and then
e-mail the results to an e-mail address of your choosing.
Guestbook: Guestbook
is the place where the visitors to your website can post their
opinions, recommendations or complaints. Such a feature can provide
useful feedback although “anyone can write anything”
and post it on your website. You’ve been warned.
WAP:
WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) is a specification for a set
of communication protocols to standardize the way that wireless
devices, such as cellular telephones and PDA devices, can be used
for accessing information over the internet.
Servers
are configured to handle applications and scripts that deliver
WAP content.
NOTE: ASP (Active Server Page) websites and
certain other types of sites and “streaming” audio
or video are NOT available with the above hosting programs but
Cole WebMarketing can offer special alternative hosting solutions
if you require these features.
All
of these hosting features, plus the Basic Features, are
included with both the Standard & Deluxe Hosting
